Aged for 18 months in a combination new (40%) and seasoned French oak barriques. Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Sailing out of the glass are scents of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum which are chased by smoked meat, vanillin cedar, pepper and spice notes. Medium bodied, bright and structu the refined palate sees blackberry and liquorice fruits mixing with peppered meat characters, light scorched earth and subtle spicy vanillin cedar. Finely structured tannins tighten up the finish. Plenty of freshness with an elegant pepper laced aftertaste.
